How do I apply?
To apply for a property please follow the steps below.
The first step is to understand whether Shared Ownership is right for you and the process involved. You can view our “Steps to buying” guide here.
If you decide it is suitable, you will then need to understand what you can afford.
1- All applicants must complete stage 1 a free, no-obligation initial financial assessment with our approved panel financial broker, The Mortgage People (TMP), to confirm the share you are eligible to apply for.
2- If you are eligible to continue, you will then move on to stage 2, of the process, this is a full financial assessment. TMP will request a copy of your credit files.
3- If you need a mortgage TMP will provide suitable Agreement in Principle (AIP) or a Decision in Principle (DIP) for a Shared Ownership property.
4- Stage 1 & 2 applies whether you are buying with a mortgage or as a cash purchaser.
5- Once stages 1 & 2 of your assessment are complete, our Sales Team will confirm your position and guide you through the next steps.
6- You cannot reserve a plot until stages 1 & 2 of the financial process has been completed and viewings will only take place if you have passed stages 1 & 2 of the financial process.
7- If you have a house to sell, this must be sold subject to contract and a memorandum of sale produced before a reservation fee can be taken.
You can complete your stage 1 assessment here or call 0800 488 0814. TMP are available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, with extended live chat hours in the evenings and weekends.
