Diary entry nine
Dear diary,
This weekend my auntie and uncle came to help me build some furniture; my family have been so great helping me.
I’ve settled in now; all the snagging issues have been resolved and it really feels like home.
There is a lot of admin involved in buying a house and I have found it challenging doing all these things that I’ve never done before on my own. Liaising with solicitors, sending countless emails and having so many phone calls can often leave you feeling like you’re not getting anywhere fast.
But it is worth it in the end to have somewhere to call your own. It’s really nice to be able to think that I never have to worry that I’ll receive a letter telling me I have to leave and I can change things in the house to suit my style.
I didn’t feel comfortable having people round to my rented property, but I’ve already been having my friends and family round for meals and my nephews will be coming to stay in a few weeks.
I’m looking forward to making lots of memories in this house!
